I was never a big fan of books but as I got older, I realized that I need to educate my self more on things I was becoming interested in. Since creating Haute Creative Co., I realized I had to take seriously reading material in order to make my website successful. One of the few books I invested was “Capture your Style” by Aimee Song.
My favorite book of all time!
What I love about this book is that the author provides details in how you can make your own branding through social media and ways for it to stand out. This is how I began to play with my iPhone apps and played with editing techniques. She provides a step by step guide in photography tips for location, composition, lighting, focus, etc. Her technique is very similar to mine; I have a minimalist palette and I only focus on one object per image. It is a very easy book to follow; it offers great insights in how to make your feed stand out. This book was my bible and reasons I started my photography and preset website. The best apps she recommends to use is VSCO, Face-tune, and Snapseed. However, I would recommend Lightroom if she were to write a Part Two to her book to help fellow bloggers.
