It seems surreal we are in May and the most popular holiday is next weekend. But the best part is that my birthday will be on Friday May 22nd. In honor of my birthday this month, I really wanted to order some interesting gifts to myself. Due to the COVID-19, it will be very hard to have a celebration with people, so I decided to just splurge on myself just a bit. The big question: what online store did I want to use for my birthday shopping? POSH MARK WINS!!
Recently, posh-mark has been my go-to app if I am looking for something specific such as shoes, wristlets, handbags, etc. To start off my birthday gift search, I tried to figure out what I wanted the most and what my budget had to be. I realized it needed to be vintage, timeless, gets a lot use, and iconic. The number one brand that fit that description is Louis Vuitton.
I typed LV and of course all kinds of accessories would pop up and the most essential item that caught my eye was the Compiegne Clutch and Speedy Handbag. These two items needed the most research as far as stitching, coloration, date code, and maintenance. So you wonder what I ordered, well lets begin! First, I order the Key Holder and Sarah Wallet. Keep in mind that these are about 10-20 year old pieces.

In order to make my purchases to even more interesting, I decided to invest in making my first LV clutch into a crossbody. I ordered a chain leather strap in order to converted into such a piece of material. This final reveal will be showcased in the next post.
The bidding for these items were hard, however it was challenging and fun. I did find my last item: LV Speedy 30. The speedy was a bit harder to find because of the color, year, authenticity etc. I selected one item but four days later, the seller sent me a private message with the unfortunate news that there was a technical error on their site and I had to cancel my order. I was very sad because the bag was in great shape and great price. Since then, I was able to find a couple alternatives and the negotiating part started again. Finally, I found a bag: Speedy 25. I did want the 30 but could not find the perfect one. In the meantime, I will enjoy the 25 and over the summer, I will continue to look for the 30 as I want to have my very own vintage collection to pass on.
