Businesses are starting to reopen and one could hope to get back to a normal lifestyle, such as nightlife activities or travel plans. However, I am like most people where I would rather wait until this pandemic is more controlled with possible vaccines available sometime in the future. But in the meantime, my husband and I have found ways of entertainment at home that I would like to share.
Paint Night
I came home from work (essential business) one day and my husband surprised me with a paint night setup in our living room. He bought small portable easels, canvas, and acrylic paint. We set up our Macbook through our Samsung 52″ TV with a HDMI connection to easily see the screen better. On Youtube, we found a vlogger that uploaded videos of different paint night tutorials for beginners to follow, as if you were back in a paint bar setting with your friends ready to paint the night away. This was the most creative way to make the hours go by really fast. See our time lapse video below:
Puzzles
We love doing puzzles that are about 300-700 pieces. These types of puzzles usually take about one week to complete, however we’ve been busy working from home or out into the world, so it now takes about 2 weeks to finish. The best part when we finish the puzzles, we lay them on a black poster board as a base. Then, we find a nice picture frame at Walmart to match the dimensions of the canvas as if it were a picture. Once its finished, the end result is a new piece of wall decor we didn’t have before. Sometimes, my husband would take these to his job and place them on his cubicle wall.
Zoom Meetings
Lastly, our newest entertainment activity at home is scheduling zoom meetings. For my birthday, we decided to do a virtual zoom bingo. First, you would go on https://myfreebingocards.com/. You will create a randomized bingo card for free using the Bingo Card generator. See instructions below:
For my birthday, the bingo game was for music jams!!! We played a playlist of 50 songs or more that would possibly appear in the randomized bingo cards. Zoom guests had to try to figure out the song that was played for 15 seconds and if they did recognize the name of the song, they had to mark “X” on the song if it appeared on their card. We made sure to give them a freebie space called “Free Space”. To make our game interesting, we raffled wine and liquor bottles for the winners. The winners will receive their prize in the mail!!! See our an example of the bingo card below:
I hope this gives you an insight of the possibilities of home entertainment you may do with your loved ones or friends online. Before we get back to our normal lifestyles, its actually very nice spending more quality time with whom you live at home. With your normal 40 Hr career, sometimes we take them for granted and this was more of a blessing in disguise for me. This is the time to prioritize what’s more important in your life.
