Today’s post is about how to plan your social media feed but in order to do so we need to push the envelope a bit. Try innovative ways and apps that can benefit your style if your current strategy is not working. Most bloggers write out or find an online pdf monthly plan that do not work, so I will give you an insight on what app actually has been visually helpful for me to plan out my week. Keep in mind that most apps will charge an add on purchase if you want to upgrade within the app. But stick to the free version to save money. I love freebies!
Planoly
I discovered this app through Pinterest ads. Once I looked into reviews and youtube videos, I realized that this was the app for me. Upon opening the app, you may use your instagram account or you can simply create an account with your email. You may choose the following accounts Free, Solo, and Duo. Solo and Duo accounts are paid monthly subscriptions. So, I use the free Account which includes 30 picture uploads per month. I tend to only upload 5 images a week. You can easily move pictures around to figure out how your content should be displayed similar to what you see below. In addition, if you need IG story planning, the top band you will a section called “Add Story” which has slots for IG Story planning.
My favorite part about Planoly is when you are unsure of what kind of posts you want to plan, it has a feature called a “place holder”. The Place Holder is simple becomes its a designated space in which you may want to add a picture for the future. Simply click on the “+ ” as if you were to add a photo and it will give you the options such as: Albums, Place Holder, Dropbox, Google Drive etc. Click On “Place Holder” and it will give you a couple of color boxes to choose from. It will give you the option if you would like to add more than one placeholder.
Palette Theme Visuals
When you have played around with the app enough, it will be easier to visualize your palette or theme for your feed. I use this app consistently to change my palette every 9 pictures in which I make color changes depending on the season. For example: blue for winter, green for early spring, pink/orange for summer etc.
Another way to get your theme started is to sign up for free Styled Stock Photos. Sometimes it’s hard to find the perfect picture or take the perfect picture. These websites create beautiful content of various textures, colors, and mockups to help users build their audience faster. Visit the follow how give out free styled photos:
Presets + Filters
Lastly, my technique to plan my feed into the right direction is using Presets + filters. I create Presets myself in order to get the look I need. Sometimes, I can not get the color right, so I would do some research on Youtube from other creators and use them as a reference. Having a Preset filter does help out your content in order to have a consistent color palette. At times when you take pictures, the photos are not providing the right color hue.
