Since the COVID started mid march for my family, we realized that we needed to make our home space as a workplace. But we felt that it needed something that would not make you feel trapped at home. This segment is dedicated to those individuals that seek an escape within their home from what we call “Home-Work”.
First, select a space in your home that you would never pick to be your home office. It can be your dining -nook table, guest bedroom, and or basement. At times, people chose their home office to be the living room area or a designated Home office Room that is useful for every resident in the house.
Secondly, the Home-Work office should be supplied with a computer device that is portable, such as a laptop or tablet. By having a portable device, it gives you the liberty to move around your home in case you need a breath of fresh air. One way is to work by the poolside or deck. Enjoy the outdoors while you have a conference call. I would not judge; I would be jealous if I had the same space.
Lastly, remember to take breaks and do an activity; whether it be to read a book and walk around the community during your lunch hour. There’s nothing better to have a routine that does not involve staring at your computer for 8 hours. Go view your garden or neighbor’s garden.
Once you finish your day, enjoy your time with family and spend some time outdoors before dinner. You need a way to dismiss the idea that you have been at home all day (even through work).
